Core
Curriculum
While each Thriving Asians workshop is unique, every event incorporates the Core Curriculum. The Curriculum follows a motivational flow - easing participants into tough conversations, and ultimately leading to a point of hope & empowerment.
-
The workshop begins by inviting participants to be brave in listening, learning & sharing in a supportive space.
The speaker models mental health leadership through sharing their story, and facilitates deeper community connections among participants.
-
The curriculum directly addresses common misconceptions & stigmatized beliefs regarding mental health.
Open discussions on Asian-specific stressors & stigma allow for participants to voice their experiences & community stories.
Often invisible statistics on Asian mental health disparities are brought to light.
-
Participants are challenged to “break the cycle” by making positive mental health change for themselves & their communities. Participants are guided through rethinking mental health as a means to thrive; and culture & community as strengths for wellbeing.
-
Participants engage in activities to build self-care skills; and identify meaningful practices learned from family, community, or culture that support wellbeing.
-
The workshop ends on an empowering note - encouraging participants to own their power as role models & leaders to shape mentally healthier families, communities, and future generations.

For a workshop series, the Core Curriculum can be spread across multiple events - allowing for a deeper dive into each segment. More time allows for more discussions, activities, and community building! We’ll work with you to plan an event that aligns with your timeframe & goals.
